GUTHRIE OPPORTUNITY CENTER FOUNDATION, INC.

MISSION STATEMENT

The primary mission of the Guthrie Opportunity Center Foundation is to support intellectually disabled people in the Nelson County community through vocational training and work opportunities.  Our goal is to develop and establish new vocational opportunities for our clients and to increase the number of intellectually disabled individuals that can be served by our programs.

We believe that developmentally disabled individuals deserve the opportunity for steady and consistent employment, a variety of employment options to match their skills and interests, and a paycheck they can count on.

Go Center employment opportunities have expanded to include two On-The-GO Foods locations, a greenhouse and gardening operation and Country Gardens, a retail produce and plant store.  These are in addition to the business contract and recycling work opportunities performed at the GO Center.  ReBart, which is housed inside the GO Center, continues to expand both its bottling lines and dry goods operations.

We have accomplished much here at the Center, but we are not finished.  Our Mission will not be accomplished until every developmentally or intellectually disabled adult in Nelson County knows that they have a place at the Guthrie Opportunity Center.
